The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
Conner fails with a takedown attempt.
Conner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson feints and as Conner raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Conner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Conner won't let him.

Conner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jake Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Conner tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Conner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Conner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson moves into full guard.

Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Johnson is looking to stand back up but Conner counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Johnson.
Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Conner is very close to passing his half guard.
Johnson tries to get to full guard but Conner has control of the leg.
Conner throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Johnson to regain full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Johnson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Conner is defending well. Johnson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Conner has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Johnson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
