The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hardy tries to keep at a distance but Naylor has taken the fight into the clinch.

Naylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hardy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hardy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hardy postures up in Naylor's guard and throws a big left but Naylor blocks it.
Hardy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Naylor tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Naylor has his hands on Hardy's head, controlling the position.

Naylor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hardy's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Garry Naylor.

Hardy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Naylor wants to get back to his feet.

Hardy has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hardy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Naylor wants to hold on but Hardy pushes him away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee warns Naylor that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hardy postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Naylor looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

You get the feeling that Naylor really doesn't like being in this position too much.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hardy is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Naylor has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Hardy has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Naylor taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Hardy doesn't care though - he's delighted!
