PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hayden Kemp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heinz Hadez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heinz Hadez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hayden Kemp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heinz Hadez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kemp throws a wild body kick that Hadez sees coming a mile off.
Hayden Kemp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kemp clinches up against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Hadez putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Kemp in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hadez landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Hadez pulls guard.
Hadez keeping full guard, as Kemp tries to pass.
Hadez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Hadez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Hadez kicks Kemp off and gets to his feet.
Kemp is breathing heavily.

A good leg kick by Kemp.

Hadez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hadez landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Hadez lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Hayden Kemp has been cut.

Hadez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hadez throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hadez scoring well with a low kick there.
Both fighters circling a little - Hadez finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hadez cracks the inside of Kemp's front leg.
Hadez shoots in for a takedown but Kemp shows good takedown defense.

Hadez moves into the clinch successfully.

Hadez is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Hadez.
Kemp really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hadez comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Hadez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kemp fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hadez throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hadez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nice takedown defense from Hadez. No joy for Kemp on that attempt.
Hadez shoots in for a takedown but Kemp shows good takedown defense.
Hayden Kemp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heinz Hadez.

Hadez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hadez jumps guard and drags Kemp to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kemp trying to control but Hadez is working from the bottom.

Hadez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
A body shot lands from Hadez.
Hadez looking to throw knees to the head but Kemp is blocking nicely.
Hadez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kemp is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hadez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hadez lands with a straight right. Kemp didn't see that one coming.

Kemp is rocked!
Kemp walks straight into a right hand from Hadez - that's dropped him! Hadez jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kemp from any more punishment! Kemp complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
