Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Metal Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ripper might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sabaton - Metal ripper. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Metal Ripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rhys Evans!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Evans misses with a series of wild punches.
Ripper thows a body shot but no joy.
Ripper takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ripper swinging wildly here.

Evans uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ripper.
Evans fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

A head kick from Evans lands but Ripper takes it in his stride.

Ripper throws a combination that misses
and Evans counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ripper is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ripper lands with a nice body punch.
Sloppy strikes from Ripper. Those never looked like landing.
Evans looks for the body kick but Ripper saw that one coming.
A head kick from Evans lands but Ripper takes it in his stride.
Ripper circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ripper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Evans, pushing him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Evans is trying to break the clinch but Ripper is controlling him.

Evans blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ripper is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Ripper dodges an elbow strike from Evans.

Evans lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Evans tries to land a knee to the head but Ripper blocks with his arms.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Evans goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ripper looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A bit of stalling here from Evans.
Evans wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Evans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ripper.
Ripper throws a leg kick that misses.
Evans bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ripper's head backwards.
Evans throws a series of punches but Ripper moves out of range.
Evans has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ripper finds it's way round the side to connect with Evans's head.
Evans connects with a solid leg kick.
Ripper takes a kick to the side of the head.

Ripper dodges the punch combination from Evans.
The fighters circle momentarily. Evans darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ripper scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans throws a series of punches but Ripper avoids them all with ease.
Evans slips a jab and a cross from Ripper.
Evans throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rhys Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ripper slips a straight right by Evans.

Ripper moves into the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Evans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Evans, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Evans moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ripper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Evans feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rippers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ripper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Evans throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ripper counters with a nice uppercut.
Ripper dips to his left and cracks Evans with an uppercut!

Ripper takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Evans has Ripper up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Ripper has Evans pressed against the cage, preventing Evans from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Evans has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

The fighters circling - Evans throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Evans lands with a kick to the temple. Ripper shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Evans throws a series of punches but Ripper moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ripper. Evans does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ripper forces Evans back against the cage and clinches.
Ripper is trying to break the clinch but Evans is controlling him.
Ripper has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Evans after a bit of a struggle.

Evans blocks a body shot from Ripper.
Ripper has Evans pressed against the cage, preventing Evans from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Ripper trying to stall but Evans improves his position.
Ripper is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Evans pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Evans is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ripper is defending well for now.

That's time! Ripper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Evans counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ripper's knee momentarily.
Ripper takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Evans misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Evans throws a series of punches but Ripper avoids them all with ease.
Ripper misses with a jab, cross combination.

Ripper lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
