The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Maximov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Belt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Belt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Maximov misses with a head kick.

Belt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Belt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Belt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Maximov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Maximov is looking for a sweep.

Belt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Belt landing strikes.

It looks like Oleg Maximov has been cut.

Maximov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Belt tries to advance to mount but Maximov denies him.
Maximov is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Maximov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Maximov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Belt has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Maximov wants to hold on but Belt pushes him away.
Belt looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Maximov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That has opened up Oleg Maximov's cut even more.
Belt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Belt goes for an armbar but Maximov turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Maximov.

Maximov gets to his feet - Belt follows without any prompting.
Maximov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maximov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Maximov throws a body punch but Belt moves out of range.

Belt lands with an overhand left.

Oleg Maximov's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Oleg Maximov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
