Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cameron Thomaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Alberich Megrez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Megrez was covering up waiting for the punch and Thomaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Thomaz dives in for a single leg takedown but Megrez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Thomaz has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Megrez is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Megrez is pressed up against the cage. Thomaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Megrez down to the mat. Megrez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cameron Thomaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Megrez feints a jab promting Thomaz to slip. Megrez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Thomaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Megrez lands a nice shot to the body.
Thomaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Megrez circles away.

Megrez stuffs the takedown attempt from Thomaz. Thomaz gets slowly back to his feet.

Thomaz closes the distance and pushes Megrez back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Megrez wants to get back to striking at distance but Thomaz won't allow it.
Thomaz jumps guard but Megrez stands there with Thomaz around his waist. Thomaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Megrez jabs at Thomaz's body.
Megrez scores with a nice right hand.
Thomaz takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Thomaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Megrez's guard.
Thomaz stops Megrez from standing up.

Thomaz gets to his feet - Megrez follows without any prompting.
Megrez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Megrez looks winded!
Thomaz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Alberich Megrez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thomaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thomaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Megrez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thomaz somewhat.

Thomaz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Megrez on his heels. He'll look to pass Megrez's guard now, I'm sure.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomaz advances position into side control!
A lull in the action here as Thomaz stalls from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cameron Thomaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomaz is on top in guard.

Megrez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thomaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Megrez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Megrez cracks Thomaz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Thomaz throws a body punch but Megrez moves out of range.
Thomaz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Megrez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Megrez scores with a jab. Thomaz acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Alberich Megrez seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Megrez lands with an overhand left.
Thomaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Megrez tries to avoid it but Thomaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Megrez to the ground. Megrez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Megrez lands with a good body shot.
Megrez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thomaz has time to react.
Megrez scores with a jab to the head.
Thomaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Megrez sprawls well. Megrez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thomaz gets slowly back to his feet.

Good exchange - Megrez coming out on top.
Megrez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A cross from Megrez lands.
Thomaz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Thomaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Megrez is wriggling around but Thomaz manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thomaz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Megrez!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thomaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
