Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dan Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiyama Shinichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan misses with a two punch combination.

We've been hearing good reports from Morgan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Morgan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Morgan gets caught napping as Shinichi dives in and scores a takedown. Morgan manages to retain guard.

Shinichi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Morgan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shinichi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Morgan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shinichi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shinichi's back!
