De La Cruz is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gothberg is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for De La Cruz.

De La Cruz takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gothberg connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between De La Cruz's hands.
Gothberg is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
De La Cruz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gothberg defends well and De La Cruz ends up having to push Gothberg into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've been informed that De La Cruz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
De La Cruz takes an elbow to the forehead.
De La Cruz is trying to drag Gothberg to the mat but Gothberg just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
De La Cruz takes an elbow to the temple.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gothberg is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gothberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De La Cruz on the ground.
Gothberg has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
