The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King dives in and grabs Bowers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowers pushes down on King's head and hops out.
King darts in looking for a takedown but Bowers gets double underhooks and turns King into the cage.

Bowers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. King did well to prevent Bowers getting side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Bowers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
King can't do much from the bottom here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King is trying to escape the position but Bowers is controlling the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
King is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bowers asserts his dominance and retains side control.
