Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Hyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Lindell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Hyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Lindell!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindell lands with a cross.


It looks like Roman Hyatt has been cut.
Lindell has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hyatt is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lindell. Hyatt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hyatt tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Lindell counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hyatt looks to land a combination but Lindell avoids it well.
Hyatt misses with a straight left.
Hyatt throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Chuck Lindell has been cut.
Lindell jabs at Hyatt's body.
Hyatt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lindell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hyatt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lindell was well out of range. Poor timing from Hyatt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circle momentarily. Lindell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hyatt looks to throw the jab but Lindell is out of range.
Lindell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hyatt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Lindell with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hyatt to score with a decent uppercut.
Lindell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hyatt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Lindell misses with a looping right.
Hyatt throws a nice looking combination but Lindell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hyatt thows a body shot but no joy.
Lindell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Hyatt ducks right into an uppercut from Lindell.
Lindell scores with a hook to the body. Hyatt takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lindell misses with an uppercut. Hyatt saw that one coming.
Lindell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hyatt looks to score with a jab to the body but Lindell is just out of range.

Lindell moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hyatt misses with a straight right.
Hyatt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lindell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lindell drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lindell connects with a jab.
Hyatt pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hyatt looks to throw the jab but Lindell is out of range.
Lindell getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hyatt, as that shot connected.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lindell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hyatt.
Hyatt tries to move into range but Lindell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lindell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hyatt in his tracks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Lindell dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lindell misses with an uppercut. Hyatt saw that one coming.
Lindell looks to throw the jab but Hyatt is out of range.
Hyatt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lindell.
Hyatt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lindells jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hyatt throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lindell throws a lazy right hand but Hyatt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lindell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hyatt.
Hyatt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lindell.
Hyatt misses with a looping right.
Hyatt listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


That has opened up Chuck Lindell's cut even more.
Hyatt misses the shot to the body.

Hyatt misses with a body shot.
Lindell moves out of range as Hyatt strikes.
Lindell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hyatt goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Lindell is rocked!

Hyatt cracks Lindell with an uppercut from hell and Lindell crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Hyatt's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Lindell is still in real trouble! Can Hyatt finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lindell is looking to sweep but instead, Hyatt has passed into half guard.
Lindell trying to control but Hyatt postures up.
Hyatt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Lindell seems to have recovered his senses.
Hyatt is trying to control. Lindell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lindell is looking for a sweep. Hyatt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hyatt throwing shots but Lindell is blocking nicely.
Lindell is refusing to be controlled, as Hyatt sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Roman Hyatt just wasn't active enough.
Hyatt drops his hands momentarily and Lindell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lindell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hyatt sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hyatt feints a jab promting Lindell to slip. Hyatt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lindell slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Lindell throws a hook but Hyatt avoids it easily.

Hyatt drops Lindell with a nice combination! Hyatt dives into Lindell's guard, looking to finish!


The cut above Chuck Lindell's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hyatt wants to control from the top but Lindell keeps moving.
Lindell looking for a sweep. Not yet Lindell, not yet.

Lindell pulls Hyatt in close to his closed guard and prevents Hyatt from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hyatt trying to control the position from guard on top but Lindell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee asks Hyatt politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hyatt prefers to stall for the moment though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hyatt throws a right hand that Lindell ducks under and follows up with a left that Lindell also avoids with ease.

Hyatt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lindell circles away quickly and effectively.

Hyatt looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Hyatt is rocked!
Lindell throws an uppercut from hell that sends Hyatt clean off his feet! He's out cold! Lindell stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chuck Lindell!
After winning the bout, Chuck Lindell thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
