Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ruben Alamo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Alamo is looking to take a break and control but Sanchez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sanchez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alamo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alamo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ruben Alamo wasn't active enough on the ground.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.

Sanchez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sanchez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sanchez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Sanchez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Alamo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Alamo and Sanchez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sanchez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alamo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

and Sanchez counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Sanchez lands with a kick to the ribs.

Alamo gets caught napping as Sanchez dives in and scores a takedown. Alamo manages to retain guard.

Alamo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.

Alamo decides to stand back up. Alamo steps back and let's Sanchez get back to his feet.

Alamo takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Sanchez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
We've been informed that Alamo has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Alamo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sanchez wants to control from the top but Alamo keeps moving.

Sanchez wants to advance to full mount but Alamo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Sanchez has control of Alamo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alamo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sanchez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Alamo manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Sanchez throws a head kick that half lands.
Sanchez feints and then cracks Alamo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Alamo down.

and Sanchez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Alamo is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sanchez.
Alamo has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Sanchez.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.
Sanchez keeps control of Alamo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Alamo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sanchez regains guard immediately.
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alamo is one step ahead there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanchez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alamo is aware though and is defending well.
