Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Hase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Axe acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Hase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Axe!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hase swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Axe rushes Hase and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Axe is trying to pull guard but Hase turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Axe prevents the takedown attempt.

Axe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hase with a poor takedown

and Axe counters by clinching up.
Axe blocks the elbow strike.

Axe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Axe misses with a combination
and Hase counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Axe shoots in but no luck this time.
Axe throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hase misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hase with a poor takedown
and Hase takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Hase. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hase shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Axe sprawls well. Axe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hase gets slowly back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hase tried to score with a low kick but Axe checks it.
Hase looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hase will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hase looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Axe is fending him off so far but Hase persists. Nope, Axe circles away and we're back to standing.
Axe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hase throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hase is breathing heavily.

Axe clinches with his opponent.
Axe is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Hase is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Axe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Axe jumps guard.

Axe lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hase!

Axe cracks Hase with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Axe working for a submission but Hase is keeping him at bay.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hase is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Axe with good strikes from the mount here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Axe is stalling here but it's allowed Hase to get half guard.
Hase wants to get back to full guard.
Axe wants to pass the guard but Hase is defending well.
Axe is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hase can't escape the position.
Axe controlling from the full mount.
Hase wants to control but Axe is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hase is squirming around, avoiding Axe's attempts to control the action.
Axe looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hase is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Axe dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Axe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Axe wants to control but Hase is keeping him busy.
Hase struggling a bit here.
Axe is looking to take a break and control but Hase is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hase is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Mark Axe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Axe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hase knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hase struggling a bit here.
Axe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hase keeps working.
Hase is trying to control Axe's posture but Axe avoids it.
Hase is being controlled here.

Hase takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Axe looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hase is avoiding damage well.
Hase is trying to improve his position.

Axe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hase, who protects the arm well.

Axe tries for a kimura but Hase is defending well.
Hase is not content to let Axe control the position.

Axe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hase has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hase is trying to control Axe's posture but Axe avoids it.

Axe stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Axe looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Axe darts in looking for a takedown but Hase gets double underhooks and turns Axe into the cage.
Axe slowing the pace effectively.
Axe misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hase is trying to push Axe away but Axe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hase letting Axe take a breather here.
Hase blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Axe tries to pull guard but Hase forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Axe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Axe manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hase decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Axe, up you get!
Hase ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hase dives in and grabs Axe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Axe pushes down on Hase's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Axe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Sloppy strikes from Axe. Those never looked like landing.
Hase is looking to clinch.
Axe feints and then cracks Hase's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hase down.
Hase moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Axe tries to clinch there but Hase circles away.
Axe throws a leg kick that misses.
Frank Hase is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Axe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Axe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hase some visible discomfort.

Axe decides to stand back up. Axe steps back and let's Hase get back to his feet.
Hase will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hase clinches up with Axe and pushes him back against the cage.
Hase looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Axe jumps guard but Hase stands there with Axe around his waist. Axe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Axe manages to break the clinch.
Hase fails to land the takedown.

Hase closes the distance and clinches.
Axe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Axe is working for takedown but Hase is calmly controlling the position for now.
Frank Hase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Axe.

Axe breaks from the clinch.
Hase throws a head kick that misses
and Axe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Axe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hase is fending him off so far but Axe persists. Nope, Hase circles away and we're back to standing.
Axe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Axe tries for a takedown but Hase sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hase is looking to clinch.

and Axe counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Hase gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Axe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Axe drags the fight down to the ground.
Hase controlling from the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Axe will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Hase pushes down on Axe's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Axe trying to control but Hase postures up.
Hase moves into full mount! Axe won't be happy about that!
Axe gets back to half guard.
Hase is trying to control. Axe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Axe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hase in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hase not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Axe is looking to improve his position.
Axe wants to control but Hase is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hase trying to mount his opponent but Axe defends it.
Hase thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Axe's head.
Frank Hase has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mark Axe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Axe is trying to maintain the position but Hase is very close to passing his half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mark Axe.
I've got Axe winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
