PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kamikaze Sazuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Wiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiki has chosen Reuben James as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kamikaze Sazuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ruben Wiki!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wiki throws a leg kick which misses Sazuki's front leg but catches the back leg as Sazuki tries to avoid it.
Wiki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sazuki.
Sazuki throws a sloppy head kick and Wiki moves out of range easily.
Wiki lands with an uppercut that bounces Sazuki off the cage and back into range.

It looks like Kamikaze Sazuki has been cut.
Wiki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sazuki paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sazuki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sazuki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Wiki drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Sazuki onto his butt! Sazuki pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sazuki throws a body kick that misses.
A combination from Sazuki does no damage.
Sazuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wiki was well out of range. Poor timing from Sazuki.

Wiki looks low and kicks high, catching Sazuki right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!

Oh Sazuki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sazuki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wiki circles away quickly and effectively.
Sazuki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sazuki seems to have got his legs back now.
Sazuki connects with an inside leg kick.
Wiki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sazuki throws a leg kick but Wiki sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sazuki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sazuki scores with a sloppy right hand. Wiki should have avoided that one.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sazuki.
Sazuki throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Wiki moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sazuki drops his guard momentarily, allowing Wiki to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Sazuki! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Wiki takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Ruben Wiki!
