PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Feyd H (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nabil Yanar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Feyd H!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nabil Yanar!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
H shoots for a double leg takedown but Yanar sprawls well. He's pushed H's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yanar pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Yanar throws a front kick aimed at H's knee but H avoids it well.
Yanar blocks a head kick by H.
Yanar is looking to clinch but H is avoiding it.
H tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yanar swivels and escapes.
H throws a sloppy head kick and Yanar moves out of range easily.
H tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yanar counters with a thumping low kick.
H misses with a double jab.
H tries for a takedown but Yanar circles away easily
and Yanar counters with a good low kick that H was not able to check.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Feyd H. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yanar has closed the distance and engaged H in a clinch.

H throws a big shot that misses.
Yanar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Feyd H seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yanar drives through with a takedown into guard.

H has his foot on Yanar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yanar works his way back into a safe position though.
H is breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Yanar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Yanar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
H is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

H wants to control but Yanar is having none of it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Yanar drives through and clinches with H against the ropes.

and Yanar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Yanar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nabil Yanar just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
H looks to land a body kick but Yanar moved away.

Yanar rushes H and presses him up against the ropes.

Yanar decides to pull guard.
Yanar has control of H's left arm, preventing H from doing any damage.
Yanar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
H wants to pass the guard but Yanar is keeping the position.

H looking to sit in guard and control but Yanar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
H can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yanar controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nabil Yanar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

H swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yanar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but H moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
H lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Yanar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Yanar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Yanar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
H is squirming around, avoiding Yanar's attempts to control the action.
Feyd H has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Yanar cracks H with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
H tries to lock up and control but Yanar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
H tries to get back to half guard but can't.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
H flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
H wants to control but Yanar is having none of it.

Nabil Yanar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Yanar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
