Rik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The walking dead. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shane Rik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jun Moroba!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rik tries to clinch there but Moroba circles away.
Rik takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rik darts in trying to clinch
and Moroba counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rik!
Rik is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Moroba is controlling him well.
Rik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moroba on the ground.
Moroba landing a few strikes.
Moroba thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rik on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rik tries to get out of the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moroba is looking to take a break and control but Rik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Moroba sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rik is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rik wants to get back to his feet.
Moroba has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rik avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Moroba.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Moroba lands a decent elbow from side control.
Moroba cracks Rik with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Moroba cracks Rik with a big right hand but Rik just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Rik is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Moroba is controlling him well.
Moroba advances to mount.
Moroba looking to finish Rik with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rik!
Moroba raining down shots from the mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Moroba scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Rik is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Rik takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Moroba's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jun Moroba!
A very excited looking Jun Moroba rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
