Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monument Obelix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kreisi Bailaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kreisi Bailaaja!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Bailaaja. No joy for Obelix on that attempt.
Obelix tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bailaaja manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bailaaja stuffs the takedown attempt from Obelix. Obelix gets slowly back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Obelix enables Bailaaja to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Obelix manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bailaaja is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Obelix wants to get back to his feet but Bailaaja passes into half guard.

Bailaaja is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Obelix sees it coming and defends easily.

Obelix tries to kick Bailaaja off but Bailaaja keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bailaaja takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Obelix is looking to control Bailaaja's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Obelix avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Monument Obelix wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Bailaaja scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bailaaja is trying to work for a kimura but Obelix is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kreisi Bailaaja dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Obelix with a lazy takedown attempt

and Bailaaja counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Bailaaja is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Obelix has managed to free his arm - good work.
Obelix wants to get back to his feet.
Obelix wants to control but Bailaaja passes into side.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Obelix tries to escape but Bailaaja is in control.

Bailaaja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Obelix is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailaaja thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Bailaaja tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bailaaja has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Obelix wants to get back to his feet.

Bailaaja wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Obelix, who protects the arm well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bailaaja is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Obelix knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kreisi Bailaaja showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Obelix wants to control but Bailaaja is keeping busy.

Bailaaja is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Obelix doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bailaaja.

Kreisi Bailaaja comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bailaaja winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
