Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loths Fallen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Loths Fallen!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fallen as he jumps to the side.
Fallen scores with a hook to the body. Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Silva blocks the body kick.
Fallen misses with a head kick.
Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Fallen shows good takedown defense.

Fallen has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.

Fallen has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Fallen gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Fallen sitting in guard here, content to control.
Fallen won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
Fallen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
Fallen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fallen tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
Silva pulls Fallen in close to his closed guard and prevents Fallen from doing any damage or advancing position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The crowd cheers as Fallen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silva doesn't seem phased though.

Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Fallen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fallen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fallen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Silva is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Silva is squirming around, avoiding Fallen's attempts to control the action.

Fallen unloads with some shots from mount but Silva bucks and avoids them well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fallen content just to control the position here.
Silva tries to hold on but Fallen pushes him away.
Fallen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fallen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.
Silva holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Fallen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fallen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Fallen manages to capitalize on a mistake by Silva to take his back!
Silva is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Fallen punches the canvas rather than the man.

Loths Fallen dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Silva tries to clinch but Fallen moves away

and Fallen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
Fallen wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Fallen staying calm.
Silva sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Silva wants to get back to full guard.
Silva is looking to control Fallen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Silva with the active half guard here but Fallen passes nicely into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Silva is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Fallen is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fallen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Silva is looking to get to half guard.
Fallen content just to control the position here.
Fallen trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Loths Fallen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fallen blocks a leg kick.
Silva with a poor takedown
and Fallen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fallen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Fallen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fallen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.
Fallen throwing strikes here but Silva is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Silva wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Fallen.
Fallen looking to ground and pound but Silva is blocking nicely.
Fallen content just to control the position here.
Silva avoids a series of strikes thrown by Fallen.
Fallen throwing strikes but Silva uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Fallen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Silva tries for a takedown but Fallen circles away easily

and Fallen counters by clinching up.

Fallen manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loths Fallen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fallen pulls guard successfully.
Fallen is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Loths Fallen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fallen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!

Fallen is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.
Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Fallen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fallen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Silva tries to hold on but Fallen postures up.
Silva tries to reverse the position but Fallen maintains control.
Fallen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Silva is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva avoids a series of strikes thrown by Fallen.

Fallen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Silva has worked his arm free - good work by Silva!
Fallen wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Silva avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fallen.
Fallen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sloppy strikes there by Fallen.

Silva is not content to let Fallen control the position.

Fallen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva prevents Fallen from improving position.
Silva regains half guard.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.
Fallen postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Silva throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fallen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva wants to control but Fallen passes easily into half guard.
Fallen tries to stand and escape but Silva is controlling the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.
Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Loths Fallen.
Well Fallen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
