PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elias Babcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ogro Azul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ogro Azul told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elias Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ogro Azul!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock checks a low kick from Azul.
Babcock finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Azul just misses with a punch to the body.

Babcock scores a takedown into full mount!
Babcock postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Azul looks a forlorn figure.
Babcock connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Azul tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Azul is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Azul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Babcock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Babcock has control of Azul's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Azul regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Azul's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Babcock cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Babcock has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Azul's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Babcock is looking to land body kicks.
