The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rapide tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Myers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No luck for Rapide with that takedown attempt.
Myers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Myers slaps away a takedown attempt from Rapide, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rapide is defended easily by Myers.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyoto Rapide. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Myers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rapide sprawls well initially but Myers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Myers lands strikes from half guard.
Rapide is not content to let Myers control the position.
Rapide on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Myers is keen to just control but Rapide is a slippery customer.
Myers looks to land a strike but Rapide avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Rapide knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Myers on the ground.
Myers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rapide tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rapide is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Myers lands a nice forearm strike.
Myers creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Myers has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rapide!
Myers lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rapide hang on?

Rapide is rocked!

It looks like Lyoto Rapide has been cut.
Rapide is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Myers has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rapide's face.
Oh Rapide is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Myers wants to control the pace but Rapide is squirming around nicely.
Myers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rapide looks a forlorn figure.

Lyoto Rapide's cut is getting worse.
Myers is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Rapide goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Myers!
