PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Corbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halo comes to the cage accompanied by I am a Nightmare Walking. Corbett has chosen Men at Work - Down Under as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gabriel Halo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Nathan Corbett!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corbett lands with a nice body punch.
Corbett tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Corbett fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Halo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Halo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Corbett was well out of range. Poor timing from Halo.
Halo misses with a looping right.
A head kick misses from Halo.
Halo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Corbett on the side of the head.
A low kick from Halo is predictable there
and Corbett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gabriel Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Corbett fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Halo manages to avoid it.
Corbett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Halo pushes off an throws an elbow but Corbett leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Halo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Corbett. That did some damage!
Corbett is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Halo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Corbett.

Halo throws a hook to the side of Corbett's head but Corbett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Halo's jab looks to have found its range, popping Corbett under the eye.

Halo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Corbett scores with a one two! Halo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Corbett tries to clinch but Halo is having none of it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Halo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Corbett rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Halo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Halo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Corbett.

Halo thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Corbett if he has to take too many more of those.

Halo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Corbett counters with a right hand to the body.
Corbett throws a jab but it's blocked by Halo.
Corbett has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Halo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Halo catches Corbett with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Corbett is still on wobbly legs! Can Halo finish him?
Halo cracks Corbett with a hook to the temple - Corbett is on wobbly legs here! Halo swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Corbett falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Halo wins by TKO!
