Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikael Lindel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earnest Abe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lindel's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Clawfinger - Biggest & The Best . Abe has chosen Uncle Sam Goddamn as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikael Lindel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Earnest Abe!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abe shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lindel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lindel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lindel somewhat.
Abe missing with a left hand there. Lindel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Abe swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Abe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Abe moves away from the strike by Lindel.
Lindel punishes Abe's body with a nice straight punch.
Lindel closes the distance and clinches up with Abe, looking for a takedown. Lindel pushes Abe against the cage but Abe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lindel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Abe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Lindel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Abe felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lindel wants to advance to full mount but Abe doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lindel shoots in but no luck this time.
Lindel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Abe as he jumps to the side.
Lindel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lindel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Abe finds it's way round the side to connect with Lindel's head.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Lindel here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Lindel is stalling here. Abe is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lindel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Abe has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lindel sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Lindel wants to control but Abe is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lindel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Abe's guard.

Abe stuffs the takedown attempt from Lindel. Lindel gets slowly back to his feet.
Abe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

I would just about give that final round to Earnest Abe.
