Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wayne Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Jason!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jason is trying hard to land a takedown here. Perkins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jason throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jason tries for a takedown but Perkins circles away easily

so Perkins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Perkins controls from within his opponent's guard.
Perkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Perkins trying to control but Jason is working from the bottom.
Jason not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Perkins postures up in Jason's guard and throws a big left but Jason blocks it.
Perkins wants to control from the top but Jason keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wayne Perkins.

Jason shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jason was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jason tries to advance to mount but Perkins denies him.
Jason scores with a couple of short elbows.
Perkins wants to control but Jason postures up.
Perkins regains half guard there - taking advantage of Jason's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Perkins looking for submissions off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perkins is pressing down on Jason's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Perkins keeping moving, preventing Jason from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Perkins is on top in guard.
Jason wants to hit a switch here but Perkins passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jason there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Jason that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jason is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Perkins has taken his back!
Perkins is not going to allow Jason to sit and survive in this position.
Perkins just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perkins throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Jason wants to escape the position.

Jason preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Perkins.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jason looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perkins throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Perkins dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Perkins tries to clinch but Jason moves out of range.
Jason is looking to clinch.
Jason throws a body punch but Perkins moves out of range.
Perkins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jason.

Jason rushes Perkins and presses him up against the cage.
Perkins is trying to break the clinch but Jason has him pressed against the cage.
Perkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perkins tries to circle away but Jason has him pinned against the cage.
Jason has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Perkins after a bit of a struggle.

Perkins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jason lands a two punch combo.

Perkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Perkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Perkins is looking to take a break and control but Jason is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jason wants to get back to his feet but Perkins drags him back down.
Jason is breathing heavily.
Jason seems a little lost for a moment, as Perkins dominates the positioning.
Perkins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Perkins wants to stand but Jason is controlling his arm.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Wayne Perkins just wasn't active enough.
Jason will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wayne Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Jason.

Jason shoots and misses

and Perkins counters with a takedown into side control.
Perkins happy to just control the position for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Perkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Perkins has control of an arm but Jason manages to advance to Perkins's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jason is trying to stick to Perkins's back but Perkins is turning into Jason. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jason's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Perkins.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jason wants to hit a switch here but Perkins passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jason there!

Perkins avoids the attempt from Jason to control.

Perkins swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
