Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Alex Rua was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua has a takedown stuffed.
Maia shoots in and drives through. Rua sprawls well.

Maia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Rua has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though.
Rua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maia is one step ahead there.
Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rua swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rua is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maia's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maia's back!

Rua cracks Maia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Maia is bucking up trying to escape but Rua cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Maia takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Rua's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
