PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Grobelaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yauri Qzatzl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Qzatzl is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: From the mountains . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grobelaar fails to land with a series of punches.
Qzatzl cracks Grobelaar with a right hand to the side of the head.
Grobelaar shoots for a takedown but Qzatzl saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Grobelaar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Qzatzl takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Grobelaar is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Qzatzl is defending well.

Grobelaar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grobelaar throws a looping overhand right but Qzatzl ducks down to avoid it.

and Qzatzl counters with a three punch combo that has Grobelaar backing up. Grobelaar nods at Qzatzl to acknowledge the strikes.

Qzatzl fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Grobelaar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Grobelaar doesn't manage to clinch there - Qzatzl circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Qzatzl. No joy for Grobelaar on that attempt.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Grobelaar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Grobelaar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Grobelaar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grobelaar tries to get out of the position.

Grobelaar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Qzatzl avoids it really well and circles away.

A frustrated look appears on Qzatzl's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Qzatzl is trying to force a seperation but Grobelaar has the dominant position.

Steve Grobelaar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Grobelaar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Grobelaar tries a body shot but Qzatzl blocks it.

Yauri Qzatzl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Qzatzl has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
