Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zbynek Taticzek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artem Bessmertin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Taticzek might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Feuer Frei. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Artem Bessmertin enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zbynek Taticzek!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Artem Bessmertin!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taticzek closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bessmertin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taticzek's guard now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bessmertin showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bessmertin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bessmertin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Taticzek wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Zbynek Taticzek has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Taticzek misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bessmertin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Taticzek throws a body punch but Bessmertin moves out of range.
Taticzek dodges the punch combination from Bessmertin.
Taticzek has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Taticzek counters with a right hand to the body.
Bessmertin looks to land a combination but Taticzek avoids it well.
Taticzek moves in looking to clinch but Bessmertin pushes him off.
Taticzek swings for the body but Bessmertin moves out of range.
Bessmertin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zbynek Taticzek is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taticzek swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bessmertin counters with a shoot takedown. Taticzek fights it but they end up in guard.

Bessmertin throws a big elbow that misses.
Bessmertin pushing down on Taticzek's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Taticzek is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bessmertin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bessmertin's back!

Taticzek has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bessmertin's body.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bessmertin lands a nice shot to the body.

Bessmertin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Taticzek napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bessmertin is putting a hurting on Taticzek here, landing some big shots from side control.
Bessmertin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Taticzek is looking for a sweep.
Taticzek avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bessmertin.
Taticzek is looking to regain half guard here but Bessmertin keeps moving and retains side control.

Taticzek parries the strikes from Bessmertin easily there. Bessmertin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Taticzek to escape.
Bessmertin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Taticzek sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bessmertin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Taticzek some visible discomfort.
Bessmertin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Taticzek is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Taticzek is trying to improve his position.
Taticzek holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Sloppy strikes there by Bessmertin.
You can see the frustration on Taticzek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bessmertin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bessmertin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Taticzek stops Bessmertin from passing to mount.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Taticzek gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Taticzek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bessmertin, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taticzek is trying to stall.
Taticzek blocks an uppercut.
Bessmertin throws a head punch that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Artem Bessmertin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Taticzek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bessmertin avoids the body shot from Taticzek.
Bessmertin lands a lovely overhand right.
Taticzek just misses with a punch to the body.
Bessmertin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taticzek is fending him off so far but Bessmertin persists. Nope, Taticzek circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bessmertin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taticzek's guard.

Taticzek is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bessmertin is pushing down on Taticzek's leg trying to pass to half guard. Taticzek is fighting to maintain full guard but Bessmertin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bessmertin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Taticzek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bessmertin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Bessmertin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bessmertin wants to take a breather but Taticzek is having none of it.

Bessmertin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Taticzek defending well though.
Bessmertin misses with a head shot. Taticzek uses the momentum to regain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bessmertin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Taticzek is looking to sweep but instead, Bessmertin has passed into half guard.

Taticzek blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bessmertin.
Taticzek trying to get back to full guard but Bessmertin takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Bessmertin breaks from Taticzek's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bessmertin cracks Taticzek with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Artem Bessmertin!

An out of breath Artem Bessmertin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
