Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Naciamento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dinesh Mistry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Mistry scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mistry is looking to take a break and control but Naciamento is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mistry lands a decent elbow from side control.
Mistry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Naciamento keeps working.

Mistry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Naciamento knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Naciamento tries to bench press Mistry off him but Mistry keeps the position.
Mistry creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Naciamento sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Mistry is trying to get an arm triangle but Naciamento is defending well.
Naciamento is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mistry off and has taken his back!

Naciamento has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mistry has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Naciamento holds on and takes a little breather.

Naciamento working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mistry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mistry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
My spies in Evade MMA inform me that Mistry has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Mistry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mistry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mistry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Naciamento tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mistry wants to control from the top but Naciamento keeps moving.

We've been hearing good reports from Naciamento's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Naciamento is on top in guard.
