Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rory Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Abbott is able to avoid easily.
Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Abbott doesn't seem bothered though.

Abbott drives through with a takedown into Jones's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abbott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Abbott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Abbott is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Abbott wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Abbott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Abbott sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Abbott connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Still in half guard, Abbott seems content to control.

Abbott is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Abbott pulls his head out easily.

Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Abbott haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
