Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack has chosen Ships in the night-Mat Kearney as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Mack!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mack. That one must have hurt.
Mack gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tate counters with a series of strikes. Mack will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mack tries to clinch there but Tate circles away.
Mack pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tate looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tate fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mack avoids it really well and circles away.
Tate tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mack sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tate somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mack will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mack dives in for a single leg takedown but Tate sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Tate has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mack regains guard immediately.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mack escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tate gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mack working for a triangle but Tate defends it easily.

Mack has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tate can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tate keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mack's head.
Tate scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Mack is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tate is aware though and is defending well.
Tate stands up over Mack, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tate trying to control the position from guard on top but Mack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mack works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tate lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tate has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mack works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tate is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Mack is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mack manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tate manages to get himself to full guard.

Tate has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mack has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Mack wants to take the fight to the mat but Tate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Tate gets underhooks to prevent Mack's takedown attempt.
Tate tries for a takedown but Mack manages to get underhooks.

Tate turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Tate working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Tate scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mack to see if he's OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tate is trying to get an arm triangle but Mack is defending well.

Mack tries to buck Tate off but Tate is having none of it.
Mack is looking to get back to his feet here but Tate is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mack's back.
You can see the frustration on Mack's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Mack is trying to stand back up.
Mack is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Tate wants to control but Mack manages to buck him off and is now in Tate's guard! Nice work there by Mack!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Danga de danga de dang - Mack scores with a four punch combination!
Tate misses with a takedown attempt - Mack sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mack fails to land with a series of punches.
Tate misses with a low kick.
Mack changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tate tries to avoid it but Mack manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tate to the ground. Tate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mack throws a combination that misses

and Tate counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tate.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mack had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tate defends it easily.
Tate lands a couple of elbows.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tate wants to control from the top but Mack keeps moving.
Tate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tate trying to control but Mack is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mack wants to sweep here but Tate controlling him for the moment.
Tate controls from within his opponent's guard.
Tate in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Mack manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Mack wants to take the fight to the mat but Tate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mack is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tate gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bobby Tate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Mack.
Mack tries to pull guard but Tate forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Tate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bobby Tate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mack wants to stand but Tate is controlling the position.

Mack looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tate trying to control the position from guard on top but Mack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mack is looking to stand up but Tate isn't so interested in that idea.

Mack has his foot on Tate's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tate works his way back into a safe position though.
Mack is breathing heavily.
Tate lands a couple of elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tate lands a couple of digs.
Mack has momentary wrist control but Tate slips an elbow through the middle.
Tate passes Mack's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mack keeps working.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tate connects with a nice short shot to Mack's temple.

Tate tries to advance to mount but Mack denies him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Mack shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Tate counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Tate looking to sit in guard and control but Mack gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mack drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tate dives on top into guard.
Tate lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Mack has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Tate is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Tate can't get the takedown.

Tate has picked Mack up - he's going for a ride! Tate dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mack is not content to let Tate control the position.

Mack moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mack takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tate working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Tate lands a couple of elbows.
Tate cracks Mack with a solid left hand.

Tate sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mack's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mack is trying to escape back to his feet but Tate uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mack sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Tate showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
