Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Giza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erwin Rommel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rommel has chosen Moob Deep-Shook ones part 2 as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dawid Giza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erwin Rommel!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giza slaps away a takedown attempt from Rommel, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rommel shoots in and gets a takedown into Giza's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rommel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rommel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Giza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rommel controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Erwin Rommel was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Rommel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Rommel tries to move to mount but Giza blocks the move with his legs.
Giza is letting Rommel control him for a moment.
Giza can't do much from the bottom here.

Rommel wants to stand but Giza is controlling his arm.
Giza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Giza seems a little lost for a moment, as Rommel dominates the positioning.
Rommel has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Giza tries to reverse the position but Rommel maintains control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Giza wants to hold on but Rommel pushes him away.
Giza is breathing heavily.
Rommel content just to control the position here.
Rommel is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

It looks like Rommel might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Erwin Rommel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Giza tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Rommel counters by moving into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rommel tries to score a body lock takedown but Giza shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Rommel has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Giza regains guard immediately.
Giza wants to sweep here but Rommel controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erwin Rommel dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Giza throws a body kick that misses.
Giza pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Giza fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rommel moves out of range of the strikes.
Giza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Rommel looking to score a takedown here. Giza is defending well but Rommel drives through and ends up in Giza's guard.
Rommel engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Erwin Rommel wasn't active enough on the ground.

Rommel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Giza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rommel controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Rommel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rommel is pushing down on Giza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Giza is fighting to maintain full guard but Rommel has managed to sneak the leg through.

Rommel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Well, if Rommel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Giza is looking for a sweep. Rommel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rommel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Giza!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rommel is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Giza to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Giza shrugs it off.
Rommel is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Giza is trying to escape the mount.

Rommel content just to control the position here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Erwin Rommel was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Rommel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rommel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rommel controls the position.
Giza tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee asks Rommel politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rommel prefers to stall for the moment though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rommel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Giza is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rommel yanks on the arm and Giza is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rommel.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Erwin Rommel!
An out of breath Erwin Rommel thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
