PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nawal Chekhemani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shed Seven - Bully Boy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Benton. Beautiful body shot.
Benton slips a jab from Chekhemani.
Benton catches Chekhemani with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Chekhemani misses with a wild combination.
Benton tries a head kick but it misses.
Chekhemani throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Chekhemani manages to break the clinch.
Benton thuds a left hand into Chekhemani's body.
Benton misses with a few strikes there.
Chekhemani has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Benton finds it's way round the side to connect with Chekhemani's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chekhemani thuds his right hand into Benton's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chekhemani has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Benton connects with a nice looking jab.
Chekhemani moves out of range as Benton throws a body kick.
Chekhemani gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Benton gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Chekhemani is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
