Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Braite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Faramir Gondor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Faramir Gondor!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gondor shoots in for a double leg but Braite sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Braite tries a head kick but it misses.
Braite lands an overhand right.
Braite slips a jab and a cross from Gondor.
Gondor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gondor closes the distance and clinches up with Braite, looking for a takedown. Gondor pushes Braite against the cage but Braite circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Victor Braite has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Faramir Gondor.

Braite changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gondor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

You can see the frustration on Gondor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Braite shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gondor as he avoids it easily.
Braite tries to clinch up but Gondor circles away and keeps his distance.
Faramir Gondor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Braite fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gondor, pushing him back against the cage.
Gondor can't get the takedown.
Gondor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Gondor wants to get back to striking at distance but Braite won't allow it.
Gondor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gondor is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Braite to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Braite bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gondor's guard.
Gondor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Braite is controlling him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gondor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Braite kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gondor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Braite can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Faramir Gondor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gondor is on top in guard.

Gondor postures up in Braite's guard and throws a big left but Braite blocks it.

Gondor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Braite looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Braite looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Braite!

Gondor takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Victor Braite overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Braite is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gondor's shoulder. That is not cool.

Braite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gondor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gondor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Braite's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Braite's back!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Victor Braite.
