Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cryst Go (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Silva!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Silva slips a straight right by Go.
Go misses with a two punch combination.
Silva slips a jab from Go.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Go misses with a body shot.

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Go wants to control but Silva postures up.
Silva trying to control the position but Go is working away.
Silva advances nicely into full mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Silva moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Go has worked his arm free - good work by Go!
Sloppy strikes there by Silva.
The ground and pound from Silva seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Go is not content to let Silva control the position.
Go holding on.

Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Go has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Silva tries to move to mount but Go blocks the move with his legs.
Go looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Go holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Go is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Go is not content to let Silva control the position.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva taking a break here but Go is having none of it and regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Go misses with the combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Go darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Silva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Go pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Go missing with a left hand there. Silva was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Go lands a lovely overhand right.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Go circles away.
Go misses with a hook.

Go's corner calls for a 1-2. Go obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Go digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Go.
Go defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.
Cryst Go has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Go is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Go pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Silva avoids the body shot from Go.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Go shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Go tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Go.
Go scores with a one two! Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Go tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Go.

Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva drops his hands momentarily and Go takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Go sprawls well. Go wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Go scores with a jab.
Go lunges at Silva with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Silva's hand.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Go, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Go against the cage but Go circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Go lands the left hand.

Go swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Go connects with a body shot that sends Silva's belly button to the back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Go throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Go sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silva drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Go thows a left - swing and a miss!
Cryst Go is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Go throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A slow jab from Go misses its intended target.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Go which made him look bad.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva moves out of range as Go strikes.
Nice straight punches there by Go. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cryst Go dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Go scores with a sloppy right hand. Silva should have avoided that one.
Go misses with a body shot.
Go lands a body shot.
Go misses with a looping right.
Go lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Alex Silva has been cut.
Go throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Go lands a nice shot to the body.
Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Go sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Silva jumps into guard, dragging Go to the mat.
Go controls from within his opponent's guard.
Go wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Go wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cryst Go just wasn't active enough.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Go lands a jab to the nose.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Go sprawls well. Go wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Go wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Go works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Silva slips under a jab from Go.
Go keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Go dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Go misses with the combination.

Silva on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Go lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Go will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Go connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Go lands with a straight right. Silva didn't see that one coming.
Silva has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cryst Go showed his dominance in that final round.
