Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Delano Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by New York. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson rushes Tyler and presses him up against the cage.

Thompson has clasped his hands together around Tyler's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee asks Thompson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Thompson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Tyler tries to improve position but can't.
Thompson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tyler down.
Tyler is looking to reverse the position.
Tyler is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Thompson off and has taken his back!
Thompson wants to get back to his feet.
Thompson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Tyler's guard. Nice work there by Thompson.
Thompson throws a big elbow that misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Our spies down at at VERSE Elite Gym inform us that Tyler has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Thompson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Thompson postures up in Tyler's guard and throws a big left but Tyler blocks it.
Thompson throws a big right hand that misses.

Thompson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tyler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thompson has managed to get both his arms back between Tyler's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyler swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tyler looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Thompson postures up and lands a big shot to Tyler's brow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Tyler has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Thompson doesn't defend quickly enough and Tyler has managed to lock this one up! Can Thompson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Tyler on a fantastic submission victory.
