Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Holding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jake Holding!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holding swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Holding clinches with his opponent.
Pain is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Holding gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pain pulls Holding into guard.
Holding wants to pass the guard but Pain is keeping the position.
Pain looking for a sweep. Not yet Pain, not yet.

Holding avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holding seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Holding wanted to stand there but Pain had control of the position.
Holding controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holding stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Holding wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pain doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Holding counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Holding has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pain clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Holding is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pain defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Pain tries to escape the position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pain wants to get back to his feet.

Holding is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pain defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Holding lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pain rolls, trying to escape but Holding keeps control of the position.

Let's hope that Holding has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Pain tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Pain is breathing heavily.
Pain has hold of Holding's hands but Holding slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Holding slips a nice elbow through Pain's hands, connecting with Pain's forehead.
Holding content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pain tries to roll over but Holding keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Holding in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jake Holding.
Pain misses with a takedown

and Holding counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pain's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pain is looking for a triangle but Holding pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Holding sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Holding wanted to stand there but Pain had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pain misses with a takedown attempt

Pain wants to take the fight to the mat but Holding manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bruce Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holding is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Holding seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jake Holding has got the better of the ground game so far.
Holding seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Holding jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pain manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Holding in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Holding wants to stand but Pain has his arm trapped.
Holding has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Holding is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pain has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pain is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Holding controlling his opponent.
Holding with a couple of short strikes.
Holding landing strikes, looking to finish!
Holding controlling from mount.

Holding tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Pain is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holding tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pain defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Holding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Holding showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pain with a lazy takedown attempt

and Holding counters by clinching up.
Holding has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pain goes for a takedown attempt but Holding pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Holding gets a takedown into half guard.
Holding trying to pass the guard but Pain defending well.
Pain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Holding performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Pain scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Holding manages to mount him!

Pain has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Holding is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Pain. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Holding cracks Pain with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Pain from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
What can Pain do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Holding has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Pain has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jake Holding is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holding has the hooks in. Pain is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
