Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Divinations by Mastodon as his entrance music. Art Lang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dave Sherk's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Art Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Dave Sherk has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lang. Sherk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sherk keeps the fight on the outside.
Lang connects with a leg kick. Sherk looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sherk blocks a head kick by Lang.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lang sprawls well. Lang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet.
Lang swings for the body but Sherk moves out of range.
Lang wants to clinch

and Sherk counters by clinching up.
Sherk tries to break the clinch but Lang is controlling the position.
Lang wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sherk has clasped his hands together around Lang's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sherk working away.
Lang is holding Sherk down, trying to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lang is trying to buck Sherk off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sherk misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Sherk wants to control but Lang is keeping him busy.
Lang tries to improve position but can't.
Sherk looks up at the clock and then as Lang takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sherk smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lang avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sherk.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sherk misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Sherk wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lang, who protects the arm well.
Lang avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sherk.
Lang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sherk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sherk trying to control the position but Lang is working away.

Sherk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sherk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lang is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sherk is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sherk fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sherk is chipping away with strikes.
The ground and pound from Sherk seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lang stops Sherk from passing to mount.
Sherk prevents Lang from escaping the position.
Sherk trying to control the position but Lang is working away.
Lang wants to control but Sherk postures up.
Sherk is looking to take a break and control but Lang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lang tries to escape but Sherk is in control.

Sherk goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lang has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sherk but great work by Lang.
Lang trying to control the position but Sherk is working away.
The ground and pound from Lang seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lang has knee on belly momentarily but Sherk bucks him off and regains half guard.
Lang wants to stand up but Sherk has a hold of him and won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lang is trying to control. Sherk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dave Sherk will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dave Sherk's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A jab from Lang misses.
Lang throws a lazy right hand but Sherk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Lang feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sherk sprawling to the canvas! Sherk rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lang finish him?!


Sherk is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big right from Lang misses.
Sherk is still on wobbly legs! Can Lang finish him?
Sherk ducks into an uppercut from Lang and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Art Lang!
A very excited looking Art Lang rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
