Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragon Slayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Horton!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slayer tries to avoid it but Horton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slayer to the ground. Slayer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Horton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slayer but Slayer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Horton misses the jab.
Nice sprawl there from Slayer as Horton shoots in.
Dragon Slayer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Horton.

Horton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slayer tries to avoid it but Horton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slayer to the ground. Slayer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slayer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Horton connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Slayer scrambles back to his feet.
Horton shoots for a takedown but Slayer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Horton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Slayer.

Slayer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Slayer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slayer wants it to stay on the feet.
Slayer throws out a powerful jab.
Horton shoots in looking for a takedown. Slayer tries to sprawl out of it but Horton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slayer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slayer is fending him off so far but Horton persists. Nope, Slayer circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been hearing that Slayer has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Horton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Slayer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tim Horton wasn't active enough on the ground.

Slayer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Horton.
Horton bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Horton closes the distance and clinches up with Slayer, looking for a takedown. Horton pushes Slayer against the cage but Slayer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slayer is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

We've been informed that Horton has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slayer throws a right hand that Horton ducks under and follows up with a left that Horton also avoids with ease.
Horton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slayer pinned against the cage. Slayer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Slayer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Horton moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dragon Slayer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Slayer slaps away a takedown attempt from Horton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horton on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Horton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Slayer.
Horton shoots in for a takedown but Slayer shows good takedown defense.
Horton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slayer's waist but Slayer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Horton off to one side.

Horton shoots in for a double leg but Slayer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Slayer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Horton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Horton's back!

That was a close second round but I would say that Dragon Slayer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Slayer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horton walks into a straight right hand from Slayer.
Horrible takedown by Horton or perhaps it was just good defense by Slayer which made him look bad.
Slayer throws a lazy right hand but Horton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Horton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slayer as he jumps to the side.
Slayer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Slayer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Horton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Slayer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Slayer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Horton is one step ahead there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slayer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Horton's guard.

Horton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Horton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Slayer moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Dragon Slayer is winning the standup battle so far.
Horton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Slayer scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Horton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slayer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Horton somewhat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dragon Slayer showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slayer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
