PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adriano Cassimiro Andrade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrade is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Baauer - Harlem Shake. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Jin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adriano Cassimiro Andrade!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Andrade blocks the leg kick.
Jin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jin tries to clinch there but Andrade circles away.
Jin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Andrade shoots in looking for a takedown. Jin tries to sprawl out of it but Andrade keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Andrade.


It looks like Adriano Cassimiro Andrade has been cut.

Jin tries to sprawl but Andrade drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jin wants to improve his position but Andrade is controlling well.
Jin gets full guard.
Andrade slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jin working for a triangle but Andrade defends it easily.

Andrade with a flurry of punches that miss.
Andrade wants to pass the guard but Jin is keeping the position.
Andrade controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andrade's guard.
Jin throwing strikes from guard but Andrade blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Andrade swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jin trying to control but Andrade is working from the bottom.
Jin stays in close to Andrade's body and controls the position.
Jin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryu Jin just wasn't active enough.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Andrade.
Jin looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jin lands a high kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Andrade avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Ryu Jin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jin throws a leg kick
and Andrade counters with a good, hard body kick but Jin shrugs it off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jin cracks the inside of Andrade's front leg.
Andrade darts in looking for a takedown but Jin gets double underhooks and turns Andrade into the cage.
Ryu Jin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adriano Cassimiro Andrade.
Jin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Andrade is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jin is keeping busy.

Jin manages to break the clinch.
Andrade avoids the body shot from Jin.
Andrade blocks the body kick.
Ryu Jin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Andrade shoots in but no luck this time.
Jin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jin throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jin tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Andrade is able to avoid easily.
Andrade throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jin throws a leg kick but Andrade moved away.
Jin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Jin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Jin throws a solid leg kick but Andrade takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jin.
Andrade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Andrade tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Andrade manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryu Jin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Adriano Cassimiro Andrade's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jin just misses with a punch to the body.
Andrade slips under a jab.
Andrade goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Andrade fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Andrade shoots for a double leg takedown but Jin sprawls well. He's pushed Andrade's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Andrade shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jin sprawls well. Jin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Andrade gets slowly back to his feet.
Ryu Jin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adriano Cassimiro Andrade.
Jin fails to land with a series of punches.
Jin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Andrade uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jin.
Jin tries to clinch up but Andrade circles away and keeps his distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jin plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jin lands with a nice body kick.
Jin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Andrade takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jin thumps Andrade with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circle, before Jin throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Andrade's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Jin lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Ryu Jin!
Ryu Jin decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
