Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virgulino Ferreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schaeffer comes to the cage accompanied by Long Tall Sally. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Virgulino Ferreira!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira throws an off balance right hand
and Schaeffer counters with an inside leg kick.
A jab from Ferreira does it's job there.

Schaeffer closes the distance and clinches.
Schaeffer has Ferreira pressed against the cage.
Ferreira fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ferreira can't break the clinch.
Ferreira misses with some punches.

Ferreira breaks from the clinch.

Schaeffer shoots in and gets a takedown into Ferreira's guard.

Ferreira has his foot on Schaeffer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schaeffer works his way back into a safe position though.

Schaeffer drops back looking for a leg! Ferreira is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferreira manages to kick Schaeffer off! Schaeffer jumps back into Ferreira's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ferreira looking for subs off his back but Schaeffer has passed one foot through into half guard.
Ferreira slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Ferreira is looking for a triangle but Schaeffer pushes his legs off easily.

Schaeffer stands up and waves to Ferreira to follow him.
Ferreira tries to clinch there but Schaeffer circles away.
Ferreira is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ferreira bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Schaeffer's head backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferreira lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Schaeffer, right into the meat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schaeffer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ferreira.
Schaeffer lands a head kick!

It looks like Virgulino Ferreira has been cut.
A cross from Ferreira lands.
Schaeffer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ferreira swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ferreira tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Schaeffer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ferreira moves to clinch but Schaeffer breaks away
and Schaeffer counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Schaeffer looks at the referee who does nothing so Schaeffer lands a crushing right that sends Ferreira to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dutch Schaeffer!
