Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bedford!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bedford pushes Ferguson up against the cage in a clinch.
Ferguson landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Bedford turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ferguson wants to control but Bedford postures up.
Bedford in side control, throwing shots but Ferguson defends.
Ferguson prevents Bedford from moving into mount.
Bedford is looking to take a break and control but Ferguson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bedford wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bedford stands up.

Bedford darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bedford tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ferguson.
Bedford wants to take a breather but Ferguson is having none of it.
Ferguson keeping hold of Bedford's head, controlling as best he can.
Ferguson is not content to let Bedford control the position.
Bedford is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Johnny Bedford has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ferguson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bedford's head.

Bedford has Ferguson up against the cage in a clinch.
Ferguson is working for takedown but Bedford is calmly controlling the position for now.

Bedford gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bedford trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferguson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bedford decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferguson, up you get!

Bedford shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ferguson defends it nicely.
Bedford swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bedford shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ferguson wants to get back to his feet.
Ferguson is not content to let Bedford control the position.
Bedford wants to stand up but Ferguson has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson is looking for a sweep. Bedford is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ferguson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bedford is looking to stand up but Ferguson won't let him.

Ferguson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bedford frees his head nicely. Oh but Ferguson has switched to an armbar! Bedford is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Josh Ferguson!
As Josh Ferguson got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I new coming in he was gonna be tough. But tonight I was tougher. We need a flyweight division! Do it! Make it happen please. (16-14-1)'.
