The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maksymilian scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Maksymilian keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Shinichi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maksymilian circles away.

We've been told by Maksymilian's head coaches at Jef Li's MMA(13 coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shinichi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tomek Maksymilian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akiyama Shinichi.
Maksymilian lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shinichi shoots in but Maksymilian avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tomek Maksymilian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maksymilian connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Shinichi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Maksymilian misses with a double jab.
Shinichi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Shinichi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maksymilian's half guard.

Maksymilian pushes Shinichi off looking to stand but Shinichi dives back in and keeps control.

Shinichi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maksymilian knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Maksymilian wants to improve his position but Shinichi is controlling well.

Shinichi is trying for a kimura here. Maksymilian looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Shinichi wins by kimura!

Akiyama Shinichi decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
