Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James feints and as Williams raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
James throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
James has control of Williams's left arm, preventing Williams from doing any damage.
James trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.

James kicks Williams off and gets to his feet.

Williams gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch.

James has clasped his hands together around Williams's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Williams looks to move to half guard but instead James has passed into mount! Damn!
Williams is breathing heavily.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, James cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
James looking to finish Williams with some ground and pound. This is bad for Williams!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Williams is working to get back to half guard.

James looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
James trying to control but he's not successful this time.
James controlling the position easily from mount.
James lands with some strikes.

James looking to control and managing it successfully.
It looks like James might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

James has control of Williams's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Williams regains control of the situation pretty easily.
James postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Williams looks a forlorn figure.
James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Williams can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
James looking to control and managing it successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

James is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Williams is forced to tap! Great finish!

Jon James tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
