Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Devereux Digard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Digard comes to the cage accompanied by Les Rongeurs - La Chasse Est Ouverte. Devereux Digard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bryan Lester's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devereux Digard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bryan Lester!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Digard.
Nice takedown defense from Lester. No joy for Digard on that attempt.
Digard misses with a head kick.
Lester will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lester moves forwards but Digard connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lester looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Digard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lester sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devereux Digard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lester throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Lester is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Lester has his foot on Digard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Digard works his way back into a safe position though.
Digard wants to stand but Lester is controlling his posture from full guard.
Digard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lester's guard.

Lester wants to get back to full guard.
Digard is trying to control the action in half guard but Lester is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Digard trying to mount his opponent but Lester defends it.
Lester trying to control but Digard postures up.
Digard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Digard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lester knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Digard prevents Lester from improving his position.
Digard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lester does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lester changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Digard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lester is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Digard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Digard is not content to let Lester control the position.

Lester is trying to get an arm triangle but Digard is defending well.
Digard gets back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lester stops Digard from getting back to his feet.

Lester blocks a head kick by Digard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Digard enables Lester to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Digard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Digard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lester defends well.

Lester moves in looking to clinch but Digard pushes him off.

Digard closes the distance and clinches up with Lester, looking for a takedown. Digard pushes Lester against the cage but Lester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lester wants to sweep but no luck.
Digard postures up.

Digard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Digard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lester paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lester shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Digard napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Digard tries to improve position but can't.

Lester stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A punch combination from Digard misses.
Lester tries to score a power double leg takedown but Digard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lester somewhat.
Lester stuffs the takedown.
Digard takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Digard looks to land a combination but Lester avoids it well.

Digard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lester to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lester must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Digard wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lester is now in half guard.
Digard wants to control but Lester is keeping busy.
Digard wants to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lester seems to be working for a kimura but Digard defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Lester showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Digard is looking to clinch.
Lester shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Digard as he avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Digard. Lester does a little dance to reset his feet.
Devereux Digard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lester tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Digard defends well and Lester ends up having to push Digard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Digard wants to break free but Lester has control.

Lester pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lester gets the takedown into side control.
Lester controls the position.
Lester takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Digard wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Digard tries to buck Lester off but Lester is having none of it.

Digard is working hard here to advance position.
Lester wants to control but Digard is keeping him busy.

Lester stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Digard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Digard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lester's waist but Lester gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Digard off to one side.

Lester working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Digard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Digard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lester is trying to hold Digard in close to prevent damage but Digard has managed to pass into half guard.

Digard is thwarting Lester's attempts to control the position.
Digard is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Lester moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Lester dives in and grabs Digard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Digard pushes down on Lester's head and hops out.
Devereux Digard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Lester.
Digard tries to land a front kick but Lester steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bryan Lester is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Lester darts in looking for a takedown but Digard gets double underhooks and turns Lester into the cage.

I would just about give that final round to Bryan Lester.
I've got Lester winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Bryan Lester thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
