The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seamon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ryou connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Seamon scrambles back to his feet.
Ryou has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Seamon shoots in and drives through. Ryou sprawls well.
Hideki Ryou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good exchange - Ryou coming out on top.
Ryou fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ryou clinches up with Seamon and pushes him back against the cage.
Seamon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ryou swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Seamon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ryou sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Seamon somewhat.
Seamon rushes Ryou and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ryou gets underhooks to prevent Seamon's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Seamon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryou lands a left hand that snaps the head of Seamon backwards.
Seamon is rocked!
Seamon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ryou is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Oh Seamon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ryou makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Ryou unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Seamon! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Ryou is unloading with more strikes now! Seamon drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hideki Ryou!
