PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Roshan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roshan comes to the cage accompanied by The Cranberries-Zombie. Hart has chosen Hide Your Tears as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Damian Roshan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Damian Roshan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damian Roshan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Hart!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hart is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Roshan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hart misses with a body kick.
Hart tries to bum rush Roshan with a series of wild strikes but Roshan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Roshan clinches up against the cage.

Roshan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Roshan tries a head kick but it misses.
Hart tries for a takedown but Roshan circles away easily

and Roshan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hart's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hart wants to improve his position but Roshan is controlling well.
Hart is trying to maintain the position but Roshan is very close to passing his half guard.
Hart is trying to stand up here but Roshan is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Roshan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hart trying to remain calm as Roshan controls from the top position.

Roshan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hart to his feet.

Roshan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hart pushes Roshan off looking to stand but Roshan dives back in and keeps control.
Hart is trying to maintain the position but Roshan is very close to passing his half guard.
Hart wants to get back to full guard.

Roshan is looking to advance position but Hart won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Damian Roshan wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Roshan closes the distance and pushes Hart back into the cage.

Roshan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roshan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hart rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Roshan counters with a crisp one two that drops Hart! Roshan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hart to his feet! Hart is in big trouble!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Roshan throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Roshan moves into the clinch.

Roshan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Roshan shoots in and bounces Hart off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Roshan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hart has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roshan has managed to get both his arms back between Hart's legs - danger averted.

Roshan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hart for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Roshan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hart is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hart has escaped and now he's on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damian Roshan dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hart slips a jab and a cross from Roshan.
Hart will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hart fails to land the takedown.

Roshan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hart to the mat! Hart manages to get full guard.
Roshan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Roshan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Roshan controls the pace.
Roshan tries to stand but Hart is controlling from the bottom.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roshan is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Damian Roshan just wasn't active enough.
Hart throws a leg kick that is checked
and Roshan counters with a series of strikes. Hart will be more careful next time no doubt.
Damian Roshan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hart closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hart lands in his opponent's guard.
Hart slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Roshan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hart can do to turn this around?

Hart goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Roshan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hart's guard! Nice work there by Roshan!
Hart wants to improve his position but instead Roshan has moved into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roshan is pressing down on Hart's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hart is holding on for now.
Hart tries to kick Roshan off in order to stand up. Roshan Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Roshan tries to advance to mount but Hart denies him.
Roshan takes a little break here. Hart wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Hart trying to control but Roshan flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Hart looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roshan controlling well, preventing Hart from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roshan looks to land a combination. Hart sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hart fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hart throws a leg kick

and Roshan counters by moving into the clinch.
Hart is trying to break free.

Roshan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've been informed that Hart has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Roshan shoots in and gets a takedown into Hart's guard.
Roshan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hart wants to sweep here but Roshan controlling him for the moment.

Hart pulls Roshan in close to his closed guard and prevents Roshan from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hart looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Damian Roshan is winning the standup battle so far.
Roshan looks to land a combination. Hart sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roshan sprawls well. Roshan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hart gets slowly back to his feet.
Damian Roshan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Hart.

Roshan is pressed up against the cage. Hart has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Roshan down to the mat. Roshan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Roshan counters with a crisp one two that drops Hart! Roshan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hart to his feet! Hart is in big trouble!

Hart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Roshan clinches up with Hart and pushes him back against the cage.
Hart is still on wobbly legs! Can Roshan finish him?

Roshan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A nice leg kick lands there from Roshan.

Roshan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Still in half guard, Roshan seems content to control.
Hart seems to have recovered his senses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Damian Roshan.
Roshan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Daniel Hart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roshan leaves Hart with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Roshan manages to break the clinch.

Roshan lands a left and a right that send Hart crashing to the mat, dazed. Roshan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Daniel Hart has been cut.
Damian Roshan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roshan throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Roshan moves into range and clinches up with Hart.

Roshan lands a hook that stumbles Hart back into the cage. Roshan follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Hart to the canvas! Roshan pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Hart has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
