Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alfie Norks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peyton Hillis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hillis throws a lazy right hand but Norks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Peyton Hillis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hillis looks to land a combination but Norks avoids it well.
Hillis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hillis throws a series of punches but Norks avoids them all with ease.
A combination from Hillis does no damage.
Hillis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Norks counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hillis won't be happy with that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Norks stands up and beckons Hillis to his feet.
Norks connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Crunch! Norks slams his shin into Hillis's torso.
Norks staying out of range there.
Hillis takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Peyton Hillis has been cut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Norks.
Hillis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Norks decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hillis's guard.


Hillis is rocked!
Norks is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hillis is still in real trouble! Can Norks finish him?
Norks wants to stand but Hillis is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hillis seems to have recovered his senses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Norks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Alfie Norks has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hillis slips under a jab.
Hillis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Norks counters with a takedown into side control.
Norks wants to stand but Hillis has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hillis is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Norks has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hillis falls off balance throwing a combination

and Norks counters with a single leg into guard. Hillis didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Norks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Norks.
Hillis throws a series of punches but Norks avoids them all with ease.
Hillis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Norks.
Norks is looking to land body kicks.
A jab from Hillis finds it's way through Norks's defenses.
A combination from Hillis does no damage.
Hillis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hillis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Norks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Norks lands with a thumping leg kick.
Norks scores with a nice right hand.
A nice inside leg kick there by Norks. That's going to slow Hillis down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Norks tries a low kick but Hillis avoids it.
Hillis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Norks can pounce on him.
Hillis looks winded!
Hillis takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norks lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A jab from Norks does it's job there.
Norks scores with a push kick.
Hillis gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Norks gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hillis is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alfie Norks!
