Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohsin Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Liam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mohsin Ali has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mohsin Ali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob Liam!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liam drives through with a takedown into guard.
Liam trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ali knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Liam on the ground.
Liam works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Liam missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Liam with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Ali is trying to stand back up but Liam is controlling him
Liam working the head and body with strikes.
Ali is looking to control Liam's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ali avoid being mounted?

That's one minute gone in the round.

Liam seems to be looking for submissions.
Liam controlling the action here.

Liam stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Liam drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ali tries to escape but Liam is in control.
Ali trying to remain calm as Liam controls from the top position.

Liam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ali is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Liam has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Liam wants to clinch up but Ali keeps it at a distance.
Ali doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Liam counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ali darts in looking for a takedown but Liam gets double underhooks and turns Ali into the cage.
Ali is breathing heavily.

Liam manages to break the clinch.

Liam closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ali's guard.
Liam is looking to work some ground and pound but Ali has wrist control.

Ali is working an open guard so Liam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Liam controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Liam dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Liam feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Liam is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Liam decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ali, up you get!
Liam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ali blocks a jab.
Liam tries to clinch but Ali is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Liam shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ali wants to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jacob Liam has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ali circles away from the clinch attempt
and Ali connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ali closes the distance and clinches up with Liam, looking for a takedown. Ali pushes Liam against the cage but Liam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Liam rushes Ali and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ali is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohsin Ali. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ali has Liam pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Liam manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Liam has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ali regains guard immediately.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Liam passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Liam lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Liam content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Liam is working Ali over with some ground and pound from side control.
Liam in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Liam decides to stand back up.

Liam throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ali tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Liam is in Ali's guard.
Liam has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Liam is in close to Ali's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Liam stands up and waves to Ali to follow him.
Liam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ali manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Liam throws a nice inside leg kick.

Liam shoots in and gets a takedown into Ali's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Liam sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ali's guard.
Liam looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Liam prevents Ali from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Liam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Liam gets a double leg takedown into Ali's guard.
Liam stays in close to Ali's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that Liam has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Liam scoring with punches to the head and body.
Ali looking for a sweep. Not yet Ali, not yet.
Liam is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jacob Liam was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Liam tries to clinch up but Ali circles away and keeps his distance.

Liam dives in and scores a takedown into Ali's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ali has an active guard here but Liam has managed to pass into half guard.

Liam decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Liam has managed to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Liam jumps guard.

Liam scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Liam clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ali changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Liam fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Liam slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Liam is trying to get an arm triangle but Ali is defending well.
Liam has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Ali is in a horrible position here. Liam smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The referee warns Ali that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Liam lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ali hang on?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Liam is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Liam!
