The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miranda fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rosewater sprawls well initially but Miranda persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Miranda throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Miranda looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Miranda prevents Rosewater from improving his position.
Rosewater won't allow Miranda to pass to mount.
Rosewater wants to get back to full guard but Miranda has passed into side control.

Miranda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rosewater has escaped the position, nice work there.
Miranda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rosewater tries to escape but Miranda is in control.

Miranda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rosewater is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Miranda has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Miranda misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Miranda remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miranda has hold of Rosewater's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rosewater seems comfortable defending it but Miranda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rosewater is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rosewater is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Miranda couldn't care less - he's delighted!
