PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kai Urutaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berto Dimagiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kai Urutaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Berto Dimagiba!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urutaka tries to clinch there but Dimagiba circles away.
Urutaka moves in looking to clinch but Dimagiba pushes him off.
Urutaka shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dimagiba eats them both and turns towards Urutaka to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


Dimagiba is rocked!


It looks like Berto Dimagiba has been cut.
Urutaka goes for a double leg but Dimagiba avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dimagiba continues to drive forward.
Urutaka tries a knee to the head but Dimagiba blocks it.
Dimagiba wants to take the fight to the mat but Urutaka manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Dimagiba is trying to drag Urutaka to the mat but Urutaka just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Urutaka tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Dimagiba is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dimagiba tightens his grip and picks Urutaka up, before dumping him to the ground. Urutaka manages to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Urutaka definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Urutaka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Dimagiba wants to control from the top but Urutaka keeps moving.
Dimagiba prevents Urutaka from getting back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dimagiba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dimagiba loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Urutaka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dimagiba lands a couple of digs.

Urutaka has his foot on Dimagiba's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dimagiba works his way back into a safe position though.

Urutaka has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dimagiba off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Dimagiba has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dimagiba there as he acknowledges the shot.

Urutaka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dimagiba, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Urutaka misses with a punch to the body.
Dimagiba has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Urutaka is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kai Urutaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Berto Dimagiba.

Urutaka gets caught flat footed, as Dimagiba shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Dimagiba stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Urutaka has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Dimagiba manages to get his head free but now Urutaka has transitioned to an armbar! Dimagiba grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Urutaka! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kai Urutaka!
