Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otto Kaikkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Trezeguet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kaikkonen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Duran Duran - WIld Boys. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 31 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Otto Kaikkonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Trezeguet!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trezeguet slips under a jab.
Kaikkonen checks a leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Trezeguet lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kaikkonen has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kaikkonen and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Trezeguet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Trezeguet instigates a clinch.
Kaikkonen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kaikkonen tries to land knees in the clinch but Trezeguet avoids the damage to the body.
Kaikkonen tries to break the clinch but Trezeguet is controlling the position.
Trezeguet has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kaikkonen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Trezeguet tries to throw a body punch but Kaikkonen avoids it by throwing Trezeguet back against the cage.
Trezeguet struggles to land a body shot inside as Kaikkonen controls his hands.
Kaikkonen is trying to break the clinch but Trezeguet is controlling him.
Kaikkonen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Trezeguet has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

A left hand lands to the body for Trezeguet.
Trezeguet tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kaikkonen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Otto Kaikkonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Trezeguet.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Trezeguet takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kaikkonen drops Trezeguet with a left and a right! Oh, Trezeguet is hurt - Kaikkonen dives into side control looking to finish!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
You can see the frustration on Trezeguet's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Trezeguet is looking to reverse the position.
Kaikkonen wants to stand but Trezeguet is controlling his arm.
Trezeguet sneaks back into half guard.
Trezeguet controlling the position well.
Kaikkonen tries to stand and escape but Trezeguet actually recovers to full guard.

Trezeguet is pulling down on Kaikkonen's head. It's preventing any offense from Kaikkonen, at least for the moment.
Kaikkonen wanted to stand there but Trezeguet had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Trezeguet looking for a sweep. Not yet Trezeguet, not yet.
Trezeguet pulls Kaikkonen in close to his closed guard and prevents Kaikkonen from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Otto Kaikkonen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kaikkonen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Trezeguet tries to work over Kaikkonen's front leg with a kick but Kaikkonen checks it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kaikkonen.
Trezeguet takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kaikkonen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kaikkonen tries a head kick but it misses.
Kaikkonen throws a leg kick but Trezeguet moved away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Trezeguet, right into the meat.
Trezeguet stuffs the takedown attempt from Kaikkonen. Kaikkonen gets slowly back to his feet.
Kaikkonen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Trezeguet doesn't seem bothered though.

Kaikkonen blocks a leg kick.
Trezeguet lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Trezeguet throws a quick inside leg kick.
Trezeguet lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kaikkonen's sensitive parts.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Trezeguet, right into the meat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Trezeguet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Trezeguet continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Kaikkonen is looking to control Trezeguet's arms but Trezeguet gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kaikkonen has his back to the cage.

Trezeguet digs a right hand into Kaikkonen's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kaikkonen's gas tank.

Trezeguet has control of Kaikkonen's left arm, preventing Kaikkonen from doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Let's hope that Trezeguet has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Trezeguet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

David Trezeguet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kaikkonen feints and then cracks Trezeguet's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Trezeguet down.
Kaikkonen throws a right hand that Trezeguet ducks under and follows up with a left that Trezeguet also avoids with ease.
Kaikkonen sizes up Trezeguet with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kaikkonen closes the distance and clinches up with Trezeguet, looking for a takedown. Kaikkonen pushes Trezeguet against the cage but Trezeguet circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Trezeguet throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Otto Kaikkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Otto Kaikkonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Trezeguet.
Trezeguet has Kaikkonen pressed against the cage, preventing Kaikkonen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Trezeguet changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kaikkonen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are getting on Trezeguet's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by David Trezeguet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Otto Kaikkonen.
I think Kaikkonen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
