The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fighter tries to free his leg and advance position but Simpson is retaining full guard.
Simpson working for a triangle but Fighter defends it easily.
Fighter is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Simpson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fighter is looking to defend but Simpson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fighter! Simpson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fighter taps out and this one is all over!
